We had a chair no-one ever sat in, that had been Lord Northcliffe's. One of the main newsprint sources was the region behind Clarke City, Canada, on the St.Lawrence. I worked for the Managing Director of Imperial, and spent one whole day being shown around the works at Gravesend. Amazing place - so many really skilled workers. The noise of the rollers. Have never forgotten it. In my time at Imperial I learned quite a lot about papermaking and woodpulp.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2980451224965693513.post-88204996789190206642013-10-16T23:00:34.474+01:002013-10-16T23:00:34.474+01:00believe it or not, i found a newspapaer dated aug ...believe it or not, i found a newspapaer dated aug 15 1922 here at my work in twickenham, London, the news about viscount northcliffe death is written, he was called as the Father of Modern Newspaper.... its juz amzing to have and see it for real!<br />Dennishttp://www.bradenz.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2980451224965693513.post-35524924417998741122012-06-21T15:10:24.078+01:002012-06-21T15:10:24.078+01:00I live in a modern house on the site of the ground...I live in a modern house on the site of the grounds in Broadstairs, called Northcliffe Gardens.
